Suzuki to invest in India for the production of electric vehicles

Suzuki Motor will invest 150 billion yen ($1.26 billion) in India for the production of electric vehicles.

In the statement made by the Japanese manufacturer, information about the agreement signed during Prime Minister Kishida Fumio’s visit to India was shared. Accordingly, Suzuki will invest 150 billion yen ($1.26 billion) in India for facilities for electric vehicles and automobile batteries.

According to the project, the production of electric vehicles at one of the company’s factories in the country will begin by 2025.

The construction of the new facility, which aims to produce batteries, will be completed within this period.

Suzuki has factories in India’s western Gujarat and northern Haryana regions.
