Spot market electricity and natural gas prices in Turkey beginning of August

The highest electricity rate for one megawatt-hour in the day-ahead spot market for Monday will be 320 Turkish liras at 21.00 local time and the lowest will be 190.43 liras at 07.00 local time, according to official figures on Sunday.

Turkey’s Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) data for the trade volume on the electricity market on Sunday showed an increase of 13.6% to 155.4 million liras compared to Saturday.

The arithmetical and weighted average price of electricity on the day-ahead spot market is calculated as 285.46 liras and 288.37 liras, respectively.

The highest electricity price for one megawatt-hour on the day-ahead spot market on Sunday was set as 311.91 Turkish liras at 21.00 local time and the lowest was 197.27 liras at 09.00 local time.

The trade volume of Turkey’s spot natural gas market decreased by 33.54% to 10.7 million Turkish liras on Saturday, Turkey’s Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) data showed on Sunday.

Total trade on Friday amounted to 16.1 million liras.

On Saturday’s spot market, 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas cost 1,376 liras, while the total natural gas trade volume amounted to 7.8 million cubic meters.

Turkey received 59.5 million cubic meters of pipeline gas on Saturday.

US$1 equals 6.97 Turkish liras at 1113 GMT on Sunday.
