Istanbul’s rail system network will reach 354.3 km in 2023

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoglu attended the Arrival Ceremony of Kucukcekmece (Halkali)- Basaksehir-Arnavutkoy-Airport Metro 2 TBM. Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Karaismailoglu said, “I would like to give the good news of our 4-kilometer Altunizade – Ferah Mahallesi- Camlica Rail System line, which we have completed the tender process and whose foundation will be laid very soon, to all Istanbul residents.” Explaining that they have taken steps to start the construction activities of the Kazlicesme-Sirkeci Urban Transportation and Recreation Transformation project, which has a total length of 8.3 kilometers, Karaismailoglu said, “Thus, when our 7 projects with a total length of 103.3 kilometers are completed, the total length of Istanbul’s rail system network, which is 251 kilometers at the moment, will increase to 354.3 kilometers in 2023.”

52% IS FROM THE MINISTRY

Explaining that 52% of Istanbul’s rail system network will be built by the Ministry of Transport, Karaismailoglu said: “As the ministry, we offer the services that those responsible for the infrastructure of the city do not offer to the people of Istanbul. Our line, which reaches Halkali-Istanbul Airport, consists of 8 stations with a length of 31.5 kilometers.”
