Agricultural Products Producer Price Index increased by 4.47% in September compared to the previous month. It increased by 71.96% on an annual basis.
Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the Agricultural PPI data for September.
Accordingly, there was a 4.47% increase in Agriculture-PPI in September compared to the previous month, 46.58% increase compared to December of the previous year, a 71.96% increase compared to the same month of the previous year and a 91.66% increase compared to the twelve-month averages.
In the sectors, compared to the previous month, there was a 1.23% decrease in fish and other fishing products, a 4.50% increase in agricultural and hunting products and related services, and an 8.54% increase in forestry products and related services. In the main groups, there was a 3.28% increase in annual plant products, a 4.74% increase in perennial plant products and a 6.10% increase in live animals and animal products compared to the previous month.
The subgroups with the lowest annual increase were cereals (except rice) with 26.19%, legumes and oilseeds, and paddy with 50.65%, respectively. On the other hand, the subgroups with the highest annual increase were grapes with 154.83% and pome fruits and stone fruits with 146.92%, respectively. The only subgroup that showed a decrease compared to the same month of the previous year was fibrous plants with 5.93%.
The subgroups with the lowest increase compared to the previous month are cereals (except rice), legumes and oilseeds with 1.80%, and sheep and goats, livestock with 2.86%; raw milk and fleece. The subgroups with the highest monthly increase were oily fruits with 31.62%, and other tree and bush fruits and nuts with 24.05%.
In September 2023, out of 84 items included in the index, there was a decrease in the average price of 22 items and an increase in the average price of 57 items.
