The Terminal Istanbul Project, which will be implemented under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, will transform Ataturk Airport terminal buildings into the world’s largest entrepreneurship center.

According to information obtained from the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Terminal Istanbul Technology and Entrepreneurship Center Project is being implemented. Terminal Istanbul Project, Turkiye’s most ambitious project in the field of technology and entrepreneurship, is considered to be the main actor of the new success story to be written in the economy in the Turkish Century.

Expressed as an entrepreneur factory where new entrepreneurs will be trained, Terminal Istanbul will become the center where Turkiye’s technology development claim grows, becomes concrete and achieves success.

Turkiye’s largest technopark will be established within Terminal Istanbul, which will become the world’s largest technology and entrepreneurship center, on an area of 138 thousand 600 square meters, which will serve 2 thousand technology company entrepreneurs and have the capacity to organize dozens of events every year.

There will be structures in the Technopark that will accelerate the realization of innovative projects such as modern offices, incubation centers, accelerator programs, joint work areas and R&D laboratories.

In Terminal Istanbul, there will be Deneyap Technology Workshops, Science Centers, Software Schools and Children’s University, which will especially contribute to the development of young people. Specially talented students at secondary and high school levels will be included in training based on learning by doing and teamwork in the Deneyap Technology Workshops, which have an area of 2,700 square meters in Terminal Istanbul, which will bring a new breath to the economic, social and cultural life of the city.

Free new generation software training will be provided to young people over the age of 18

Everyone from 7 to 77 will meet with science at Turkiye’s largest Science Center, which will host more than 1 million visitors a year on an area of 31 thousand square meters. Free new generation software training will be provided to young people over the age of 18 in Software Schools that will be established on an area of 3 thousand 200 square meters.

With the Children’s University, an educational environment of 2,700 square meters will be created where every year, a thousand children between the ages of 10-13 will have the opportunity to learn theoretical knowledge in the field of science and technology by experiencing it.

With the National Garden located in the immediate vicinity, Terminal Istanbul will be the meeting point of science and society as a new living space.

Statement from stakeholders after the “Terminal Istanbul Promotion Meeting”

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacir, People’s Alliance’s IBB Presidential candidate Murat Kurum, Baykar Chairman of the Board Selcuk Bayraktar and Turkcell General Manager Ali Taha Koc made statements to the press after the “Terminal Istanbul Promotion Meeting”.

Minister Kacir stated that Ataturk Airport is a place that has left an important mark in everyone’s life and said, “We are now embarking on a new journey with a wide stakeholder network to give this center a new function. We are transforming these Ataturk Airport terminals into the world’s largest technology and entrepreneurship center with the Terminal Istanbul brand.”

Kacir pointed out that Istanbul is currently the heart of technology entrepreneurship in Turkiye and one of the cities with the fastest rising entrepreneurship ecosystems in the world. “We have brought significant gains to Istanbul’s technology journey with TEKNOFESTs so far. But the Terminal Istanbul project will crown these gains and become the epicenter of a new wind spreading to all districts and neighborhoods of Istanbul in the coming period.”

Reminding that IMM Presidential candidate Murat Kurum also has a Digital Istanbul vision, Kacir concluded his words as follows:

“Our esteemed minister and Metropolitan Mayor candidate, Murat Kurum, is also with us here. As you know, he also has a Digital Istanbul vision and has prepared many projects aimed at directing qualified human resources in Istanbul to create added value to Istanbul, with joint working offices and entrepreneurship support. Bayraktar said, “Everything that has left its mark on the world and entered our lives in the last 30 years comes from initiatives established by young people who came together like our teams competing in TEKNOFEST. Of course, our country has evolved to a point where it competes with the world in terms of entrepreneurial ecosystem. We launched initiatives that would leave his mark on the world and achieve great success, especially in the defense industry. These have become the UAVs exported to the most countries in the world, such as Bayraktar TB2. In addition, many products of our defense industry are used with great admiration all over the world. It attracts a lot of attention in battle.”

Reminding that they started a movement with the ideal of “National Technology Move” not only in the field of defense industry but also in all other areas of technology, Bayraktar continued as follows:

In order to realize the ideal of the “National Technology Move”, that is, with the aim of a Turkiye that researches and produces on the path to a fully independent and prosperous Turkiye, we organized the event we call TEKNOFEST. Over the years, TEKNOFEST has become by far the largest event in the world. Hundreds of thousands of our young people who graduated from this TEKNOFEST have now completed their university education.
