Turkiye: International PPI increased on a monthly and annual basis in October

International Producer Price Index increased by 1.35% on a monthly basis and 57.25% on an annual basis in October.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced I-PPI data for October.

Accordingly, I-PPI increased by 1.35% in October compared to the previous month, 49.61% compared to December last year, 57.25% compared to the same month last year and 51.04% compared to the twelve-month averages.

Looking at the annual changes in the two sectors of the industry, there was an increase of 54.78% in mining and quarrying and 57.3% in manufacturing. Considering the annual changes of the main industrial groups, there was an increase of 49.77% in intermediate goods, 62.19% in durable consumer goods, 61.27% in non-durable consumer goods, 43.75% in energy and 65.49% in capital goods.

Monthly changes in the two sectors of the industry were calculated as 2.79% increase in mining and quarrying and 1.33% increase in manufacturing. While the monthly changes of the main industrial groups were recorded as an increase of 1.72% in intermediate goods, 2.27% in durable consumer goods, 3.39% in non-durable consumer goods and 1.3% in capital goods, a decrease of 6.91% in energy was recorded.

According to the annual I-PPI, 9 sub-sectors showed lower changes and 16 sub-sectors showed higher changes.

Among the I-PPI sectors, base metals, paper and paper products, 40.94%, coke and refined petroleum products, 43.75% were the sub-sectors where the indices increased the least. On the other hand, tobacco products with 89.25%, computers and electronic and optical products with 72.53%, machinery and equipment not classified elsewhere (BYS) with 72.29% were calculated as the sub-sectors where the indices increased the most.

According to the monthly I-PPI, 5 sub-sectors showed a lower change and 20 sub-sectors showed a higher change.

Among the I-PPI sectors, coke and refined petroleum products were the sub-sectors where the indices decreased with 6.91%, and motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers with 0.11%. On the other hand, tobacco products with 8.09%, printing and recording services with 5.14%, computers and electronic and optical products with 4.78% were recorded as the sub-sectors where the indices increased the most.
