Honor X40 GT Racing Edition launched with Snapdragon 888, 12GB RAM, 512GB storage

Honor has launched the Honor X40 GT Racing Edition. The reason why the brand is not very vocal about it is that it is not an entirely new phone but an updated version of the Honor X40 GT, which was announced in October last year.

To recall, the Honor X40 GT that launched last year came in two options, such as 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage for $287 ( 2,099 Yuan) and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage for 2,399 Yuan (~$329). It was offered in shades like Racing Black, Midnight Black, and Titanium Silver.

The Honor X40 GT Racing Edition that has gone official today comes in two variants, such as 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage. Both models are priced at 1,799 Yuan (~$246) and 1,999 Yuan (~$274), respectively. It comes in three shades: Racing Black, Racing Silver, and Midnight Black.

Honor X40 GT Racing Edition specifications

The Honor X40 GT Racing Edition features a 6.81-inch FHD+ LCD that supports a 144Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. For security, it has a side-facing fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood, it is fitted with the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform. This processor is complemented by LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 storage. To keep the lights on, it comes with a built-in 4800mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging.

In the camera department, the Honor X40 GT Racing Edition offers a 16-megapixel selfie lens on the front. On the rear, it features a 50-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth-of-field lens. With its sleek 8.45mm thickness and a weight of just 199.5g, it strikes a balance between a visually appealing design and portability. As can be seen, the Honor X40 GT Racing and its regular version from last year are packed with identical specs.
