Approximately $7.5 billion of exports in 8 months from Istanbul Exporters’ Association

Istanbul Exporters’ Associations increased its exports by 4.6% in the 8 months of the year compared to the same period last year, and exported a total of approximately $7 billion 500 million with its 7 exporters’ associations.

According to the statement made by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Istanbul Exporters sold products to 196 country markets in the first 8 months of the year, compared to the same period of the previous year, and increased their share in the country’s exports to 5.2%.

In the first 8 months of the year, the Union’s exporters made the most exports in terms of value to Iraq with $487 million. The most poultry, animal products, furniture, paper and forest products were sold to Iraq. After Iraq, the highest exports in terms of value were made to the United States, Norway, Germany and the United Kingdom.

In the exports made by IMM, grains, pulses, oilseeds, furniture, paper, forest products to the USA, and ships, yachts and services to Norway came to the fore. Hazelnuts and their products, grains, pulses and oilseeds came to the fore in Germany, and furniture, paper and forestry products and grains, pulses and oilseeds came to the fore in the United Kingdom.

European Union countries come first

Based on country groups, the region to which IMM exported the most was the European Union countries with $1 billion 535 million. Exports to European Union countries increased by 16% in the first 8 months of the year compared to the same period of the previous year.

Istanbul Exporters’ Associations exported $1 billion 130 million in August, with an increase of 18.3% compared to the same month of the previous year. Istanbul Exporters made the most exports in August to Norway, Iraq, the United States, Italy and the United Kingdom.
