Stating that e-commerce expenditures in the world reached $900 billion in 2020, the number of people using e-commerce sites was 1.9 billion, Karaismailoglu explained the developments in Turkey as follows: “Especially with PTTAVM.com, which started to serve on May 17, 2012, a new era has started in the field of e-commerce in our country. PTTAVM.com is able to offer e-commerce services to the points that no e-commerce site has reached until today, taking its 181 years of PTT heritage and experience with it. PTT works with more than 25 thousand suppliers and brings more than 25 million products to users. It offers opportunities for domestic producers to get the share they deserve from the developing e-commerce market and to open up to the world. Our domestic producers can export to dozens of contracted countries with PTT assurance without encountering any additional procedures or costs, and reach wide markets all over the world. By the end of January 2021, we have e-exported to 53 countries including Canada, USA, Norway, England, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Russia, South Korea and Australia.”
