FISKOBIRLIK’s new export route is “Japan”

The new route of the Hazelnut Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union (FISKOBIRLIK), which improves its export market every year, has become “Japan”.

FISKOBIRLIK, which sells hazelnuts and hazelnut products to nearly 30 countries, mainly Italy, Netherlands, Germany, France, Libya, Canada and China, continues its search for new markets.

Thanks to new initiatives, FISKOBIRLIK made an export of 4.5 tons to Japan for the first time this month, generating a revenue of ₺3 million.

The Association, which plans to focus on the Far East market, especially in South Korea, continues its efforts with the target of 2023 export income of ₺200 million.

“I find this export important as a start”

Lutfi Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FISKOBIRLIK, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that they are happy to export products made from hazelnuts to Japan for the first time.

Emphasizing that the Association has been working for new markets abroad for a long time, Bayraktar stated that they have taken a serious distance in this as well.

Emphasizing that Japan was the last country to be exported to, Bayraktar said, “Our last stop was Japan. FISKOBIRLIK has recently made a sale to this country. Most of them are value-added hazelnut products. I find this export important as a starting point. From now on, all countries in the geography where Japan is located will be our target.”

“FISKOBIRLIK is growing very fast”

Pointing out that they are faced with intense demand in the domestic and foreign markets, Bayraktar said:

“We are trying to sell our products to about 30 countries. FISKOBIRLIK is growing very fast. We need new investments for this. We will increase our production and accordingly our export amount with new investments every day. The number of countries will increase accordingly.”

Bayraktar, regarding the latest situation in the institution, said, “We are in the position of an institution that buys hazelnuts from the producer, processes it in its own integration, produces final products and tries to sell them at home and abroad. It is going very well. I hope we have a big target.”

Stating that they are moving towards FISKOBIRLIK, which is once again having a say in hazelnuts in the world, Bayraktar said, “We know that we will go a long way in the hazelnut market. Because this is where we come from. Our goal is to buy more hazelnuts, produce more hazelnuts and sell them to the world.”
