President Erdogan: 54% of Turkiye’s installed electricity power comes from renewable energy

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the Great Economies Forum with a live link. Referring to the efforts to reduce emissions from transportation, Erdogan said, “We will put Turkiye’s first electric car, TOGG, into service by the end of the year, by removing it from the production line.” Underlining that 54% of Turkiye’s installed electricity power is from renewable energy, Erdogan said, “We are ready to be in cooperation and solidarity with all our partners in the process of transformation into clean energy.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the Great Economies Forum with a live link. Highlights from Erdogan’s statements are as follows:

  • We held the Climate Council with the aim of strengthening Turkiye’s climate policy for the future of the world. We announced our net 0 emission value for 2053. With the same determination, we have made important commitments regarding zero-emission vehicles, road transport and forest loss and land degradation. We adopted our Green Action Plan. We are one of the world’s leading countries in combating desertification and erosion.
  • We are doing our part in reducing emissions from transportation and manure management. Until the end of this year, we will put Turkiye’s first electric car, TOGG, into service by taking it off the production line. We are promoting sustainable and climate-friendly modes of transport.
  • Turkiye ranks 12th in the world in renewable energy installed power, while Europe ranks 5th. With the improvements we have made in the field of energy, an additional 100 million tons of greenhouse gases per year have been avoided. Energy efficiency is an integral part of the transition to clean energy and energy conversion. As Turkiye, we were taking a position with this understanding. We have installed 54% of our installed electrical power from renewable energy plants. We are ready to cooperate and cooperate with all our partners in the process of transformation into clean energy.
