Petkim became the star of exports in 2021

Petkim ranked first in the “Stars of Export” list, which evaluates all sectors according to the Aegean Exporters’ Association data in 2021. Maintaining its strong position in exports in 2021, as in 2020, Petkim achieved an export income of $810.9 million.

Petkim, a subsidiary of SOCAR Turkey, Turkey’s largest foreign direct investor, became the “export champion” of the chemical industry in 2021 as well. Petkim ranked first in the category of all sectors in the traditional “Stars of Export” list announced by Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB).

EXPORTS OF $810.9 MILLION

Petkim, Turkey’s first and only integrated petrochemical plant, gave priority to the needs of domestic producers so that their production would not be interrupted despite the ongoing pandemic and restrictions for the last two years. Petkim became the export champion of the Aegean Region in 2021, as has been the case for many years. After a two-year hiatus, Petkim ranked first among all sectors, not just chemistry, and realized indirect and direct exports totaling $810.9 million at the end of 2021.

SYNERGY WITH STAR REFINERY

Continuing its production with the synergy provided by the integration of STAR Refinery, another subsidiary of SOCAR Turkey, Petkim, with the increase in the need for hygiene in 2021 as well as in 2020 and the continued demand for packaging materials, the capacity utilization rate increased from 87.9% in 2020 to 92.6% in 2021. Petkim also closed 2021 with a net profit record of ₺5.5 billion.
