OSTIM Defense and Aviation Cluster showcases the power of SMEs in the industry

OSTIM Defense and Aviation Cluster (OSSA) prepared a comprehensive competency and capability guide to enable SMEs operating in the defense, aerospace and space industries to get new jobs from domestic and foreign companies and institutions.

Establishing strong supply chains in the defense, aviation and space industries is critical. Increasing and strengthening the supply triangle is possible primarily by correctly determining the capabilities and competencies of suppliers and reaching the right supplier within the scope of needs.

Accordingly, OSSA compiled information introducing companies such as the companies they work with in Turkey and abroad, the countries they export, their achievements, their fields of work, certificates, raw materials they work with, the number of employees, and created a reliable database in order to explain it better to domestic and foreign institutions, organizations and companies by developing skills and capabilities of SMEs, which have many skills in the defense and aerospace industry.

A detailed and lengthy study was carried out by OSSA in order to deliver all these competencies and abilities to foreign companies and institutions as well as main industrial firms and institutions in Turkey. The OSSA detailed SME member catalogue and talent guide will contribute to the functioning of the defense, aviation and space supply ecosystem.

Catalogue was sent to the main industrial firms and institutions in Turkey, to purchasing, supply chain and project officials of foreign companies and institutions in the international network of OSSA and to Turkish attaché offices. OSSA also delivered the catalogue to the participants in the international organizations it participated in.

The catalogue was exhibited at the digital OSSA booth at the Kuala Lumpur International Aerospace Business Convention Online B2B and Aeromart Toulouse Digital 2020 event and was also communicated to the authorities of the companies where B2B meetings were held.

OSSA has more than 260 member companies from Ankara, Balikesir, Bursa, Istanbul, Izmir, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Konya, Manisa and Mersin, with nearly 10 thousand employees and over 50 branches of activity.
