Borsa Istanbul looking down at weekly open

BIST 100 index falls 6.3 points, Turkish lira gains value against foreign currencies

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,536.79 points on Monday, falling 0.25%, or 6.32 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up by 1.23% to close at 2,571.57 points on Friday, with a daily trading volume of 46.5 billion Turkish liras ($2.7 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 17.1027 as of 10.35 a.m. local time (0735GMT), from 17.2250 at last week’s close.

The euro/lira exchange rate decreased to 18.0320 from 18.3610,while a British pound traded for 21.0282 Turkish liras, down from 21.6420 at the previous close.

Brent crude oil was sold for around $119.39 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,863.5.
