In the statement made by IKMIB, it was stated that according to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkiye’s exports reached $21 billion in February, with an increase of 13.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.

IKMIB Chairman Pelister, whose views were included in the statement, said, “In February, our chemical industry realized $2.6 billion of exports, with an increase of 15% compared to the same month last year, and became the second sector with a 12.4% share of our country’s exports.”

Emphasizing that the devastating earthquake disaster in February last year had a negative impact on exports, Pelister said:

“As a matter of fact, our country managed to grow 4.5% despite the difficulties experienced. As the chemical industry, we completed the year with an export of $30.6 billion. We are pleased with the increase performance in our exports in February after January this year. We continue to support our exporters operating in the chemical industry with national participation fairs, trade delegations, purchasing delegations, fair information visits, training and seminars. In February, we held 6 events simultaneously in 5 different countries: UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Spain and the USA. In March, we will organize national participation organizations for Panama-Expocomer 2024 Fair, USA-IHS 2024 Fair and Italy-Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna Fair. As a strong chemical industry that adds value to our country with our 16 sub-sectors, we will continue to work to contribute more to exports.”
