CBRT: Deposits of the banking sector increased by ₺230.7 billion

Total deposits of the banking sector increased by ₺230.7 billion in the week ending October 13, reaching ₺14 trillion 24 billion.

Weekly money and bank statistics were published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT).

Accordingly, total deposits in the banking sector (including interbank) increased by ₺230 billion 663 million 542 thousand in the week ending October 13, reaching ₺14 trillion 23 billion 979 million 155 thousand.

In the same period, TL deposits in banks increased by 2.4% to ₺8 trillion 6 billion 660 million 139 thousand, and foreign currency (FX) deposits increased by 1.4% to ₺5 trillion 410 billion 571 million 632 thousand.

While total FX deposits in banks amounted to $206 billion 110 million last week, $173 billion 163 million of this amount was collected in the accounts of domestic residents.

Considering data adjusted for parity effect, there was an increase of $717 million in total FX deposits of domestic residents as of September 13.

Installment commercial loan amount increased

Consumer loans in deposit banks increased by 0.7% last week and reached ₺1 trillion 369 billion 214 million 855 thousand. In the same period, commercial installment loans increased by 0.3% to ₺1 trillion 139 billion 868 million 443 thousand, and credit card balances increased by 1.3% to ₺1 trillion 302 billion 997 million 932 thousand.

Of the consumer loans in deposit banks, ₺401 billion 611 million 524 thousand were housing loans, ₺67 billion 172 million 178 thousand were vehicle loans and ₺900 billion 431 million 153 thousand were other loans.

The total credit volume of the banking sector, including the CBRT, increased by ₺71 billion 243 million 779 thousand in the week ending October 13, reaching ₺10 trillion 318 billion 861 million 298 thousand. Total loan volume increased by 55.7% compared to the same period last year.
