₺1.5 billion investment from Eti Bakir to produce DAP fertilizer

CENGIZ Holding will produce diammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizer at its subsidiary Eti Bakir Samsun facility. The facility, which will produce 250 thousand tons of DAP fertilizer when completed, is aimed to prevent imports of $100 million. Cengiz Holding is planning to complete the said investment, which it plans to realize with an investment of ₺1.5 billion, in 2025. Eti Bakir Deputy General Manager Asim Akbas stated that with the new investment, the sulfuric acid, which is found as a by-product in Eti Bakir’s facility in Samsun, will be brought into the economy. “The most profitable way to convert sulfuric acid, which is produced as a result of cathode copper production, into a product with high added value, is to turn it into fertilizer. Today, Turkey mostly meets its need for phosphoric acid and fertilizer derivatives through imports. Considering the needs in this field, we will undertake an important investment.”
