The textile and raw materials sector achieved the highest January export of all time with $819 million of exports in January.
According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkiye’s exports increased by 10.4% in January compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to $19.4 billion.
Thus, the highest January export ever reached, while the annualized export value increased to $256 billion.
The textile and raw materials sector, which realized $815 million of exports in January 2022, made $818 million 844 thousand of exports in January 2023 with an increase of 0.5%. Thus, the sector achieved the highest January exports of all time.
$345 million of the sector’s exports last month was made from Istanbul. Istanbul was followed by Gaziantep with $119 million and Bursa with $105 million.
Most export to Italy
Last month, Italy was the country with the highest export sales in the sector, with $78 million. Italy was followed by Belarus with $57 million and Germany with $36 million.
Looking at the country groups to which the most exports were made last month, EU countries ranked first with $320 million, the Commonwealth of Independent States ranked second with $149 million and African countries ranked third with $91 million.
According to TIM data, the textile and raw materials sector, which exports to 162 countries and regions in January, received a share of 4.2% from the country’s total exports in the same period.
