Verdantwave, Specializing in Carbon Emissions Reduction and Oil Consumption, Attracts Investment from Founder One

Verdantwave, which focuses on reducing carbon emissions and oil usage resulting from the production of plastic raw materials by using the waste of natural fiber-containing plants such as industrial hemp, received investment from Turkiye’s first impact investment fund, Founder One.

Verdantwave transforms agricultural waste into biopolymer additive raw materials, thanks to the advanced recycling technology it has developed. This technology aims to significantly reduce the carbon footprint and oil dependence in plastic production processes by using waste from renewable sources such as industrial hemp. In addition, the high-strength biocomposite polymers developed are offered at competitive prices, encouraging the use of alternative plastics.

Each tonne of biocomposite polymer produced by Verdantwave produces approximately 37% less carbon emissions compared to standard plastic polymers. Thus, it both contributes to environmental sustainability and increases economic efficiency.

Founder One Investment Committee Member and General Manager Ali Sahin stated that they, as Founder One, are very pleased to invest in Verdantwave, which focuses on reducing carbon emissions and oil usage resulting from the production of plastic raw materials by using the waste of plants containing natural fibers such as industrial hemp.

“Environmental problems arising from plastic production and use are one of the biggest problems in today’s world. Verdantwave offers sustainable and renewable solutions by converting agricultural wastes into valuable biopolymer additive raw materials with the advanced recycling technology it has developed against these problems. This investment not only provides a financial return, but also supports our mission to contribute to environmental sustainability. We believe that Verdantwave will play an important role in reducing the carbon footprint in the plastic industry and popularizing the use of alternative plastics and will contribute to a more sustainable world and future.”
