Minister Karaismailoglu gave a date for Kanal Istanbul

Adil Karaismailoglu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, stated that they will lay the foundation of the first bridge of Kanal Istanbul in June, which the experts oppose.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoglu, stating that the work on the Kanal Istanbul Project is continuing, said, “We will lay the foundation of the first bridge of Kanal Istanbul in June with our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. We continue to manufacture other bridges. 2021 will be an important year for Kanal Istanbul. Our goal is to make our tenders and start the work at full speed.”

Karaismailoglu, who answered the questions of the press members on the train after the test drive on the Konya-Karaman High Speed Train (YHT) Line, stated that they invested more than 50% of 2019 last year and said that the projects they opened require advanced engineering.

Karaismailoglu pointed out that the work on the Kanal Istanbul Project is continuing, and continued as follows:

“There are 6 bridges on the Kanal Istanbul route. We will lay the foundation of the first bridge of Kanal Istanbul in June together with our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. We continue to build other bridges. 2021 will be an important year for Kanal Istanbul. Our goal is to make our tenders and start working at full speed. Now we have to do this as soon as possible because this is an alternative waterway project to the Bosphorus traffic in Istanbul. The zoning plans and suspension processes are over. I hope the coming years will be the years of Kanal Istanbul.”

Claiming that the news that some banks do not want to finance the Kanal Istanbul Project are just rumors, Karaismailoglu said, “We are meeting with financial institutions in the world. There is no problem with financing. Holland, Belgium, China, Russia are all interested. However, we will do this work with local contractors.”
