Benchmark index gains 28.5 points at opening session
Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 8,174.99 points, up 0.35%, or 28.5 points, from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Monday at 8,146.49 points,down 2.15%, with a daily trading volume of 153 billion Turkish liras ($5.68 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.8715 as of 10.05 a.m. local time (0705GMT), while the euro/lira rate stood at 28.8720 and a British pound traded for 33.6350 liras.
Brent crude oil was selling for around $90.8 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,942.45.
