Turkiye: The share of wind energy in electricity installed power has approached 11%

While Turkiye’s wind energy capacity exceeding 11,400 megawatts consists of power plants in 47 provinces, Izmir has the highest capacity.

As of the end of March, Turkiye’s electricity installed power reached 104,348 megawatts, and wind energy installed power reached 11,426 megawatts.

While the share of renewable energy sources in electricity generation is gradually increasing, the share of wind energy in Turkiye’s electricity installed power has reached 10.9%.

The installed power of wind energy, mainly composed of licensed power plants, has spread to 47 provinces of Turkiye. Unlicensed wind power plants with a total capacity of 88.4 megawatts are located in 15 provinces.

Izmir is in the first place
