While the industrial production index increased by 1.6% monthly in December 2022, it decreased by 0.2% annually

While the industrial production index increased by 1.6% on a monthly basis in December 2022, it decreased by 0.2% on an annual basis.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the results of the industrial production index for December last year.

Accordingly, in December last year, calendar adjusted industrial production decreased by 0.2% compared to the same month of 2021.

When the sub-sectors of the industry are analyzed, the mining and quarrying sector index decreased by 1.1% and the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution sector index decreased by 8.5% in December 2022 compared to the same month of the previous year. The manufacturing industry sector index, on the other hand, increased by 0.5%.

The unadjusted industrial production index decreased by 1.17% on an annual basis.

Monthly data on industrial production

Seasonally and calendar adjusted industrial production increased by 1.6% in December last year compared to the previous month. When the sub-sectors of the industry are analyzed in the month in question, the mining and quarrying sector index increased by 2.3% and the manufacturing industry sector index by 1.7%, while the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution sector index decreased by 0.2%.
