LG Electronics cooperates with NET-A-PORTER for the sustainable clothing collection

LG Electronics (LG) joins hands with the leading online luxury fashion retailer NET-A-PORTER to offer an eco-conscious clothing collection made of high-quality natural materials, designed in limited runs for years to come.

According to the company statement, the capsule collection offered by LG, which will be sold exclusively on NET-A-PORTER, will help consumers live more sustainable.

The collection will also be part of the Net Sustain platform, designed to contribute to the solution to the global fashion waste problem, which is estimated to cost$ 400 billion a year by the World Economic Forum.

For the campaign, LG and NET-A-PORTER collaborated with brands Mara Hoffman, Le Kasha and Bondi Born, who are committed to fashion sustainability.

The resulting parts are made of 100 percent machine-washable materials without the need for dry cleaning and are designed to last for many years.

20 percent of the income from the sale of the private collection will be donated to environmental organizations.

The initiative also supports the home appliances and consumer electronics company’s commitment to reduce its global carbon footprint to make tomorrow better as part of LG’s #CareForWhatYouWear campaign.

LG’s multinational campaign invites consumers to help combat garment waste by reducing fabric damage through proper laundering, and highlights the environmental benefits of purchasing durable, eco-friendly clothing, redesigning garments and giving unused garments to people who can use them.

Last year, LG announced its aggressive Zero Carbon initiative, committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions from its global operations by 2030.

As the world’s biggest name when it comes to garment care solutions, LG also knows a lot about laundry efficiency and fabric care. With LG’s advanced garment care trio – washing machine with AI DD, DUAL Inverter heat pump dryer and styler – consumers can use electricity more efficiently to minimize the impact on the planet while extending the life of their favorite garments.

Dan Song, the President of LG Electronics Home Appliances and Air Solutions Company said:

‘’As a world leader in garment care solutions, we feel we have a responsibility when it comes to environmental sustainability, and our partnership with NET-A-PORTER increases our credibility in this direction exponentially. Through innovative products and initiatives, LG demonstrates its deep commitment to making the world a better place and making life well now and in the long future. ‘’
