Jewelry exports reached the limit of $3 billion in 7 months

In the first 7 months of the year, Turkey’s jewelry exports increased by 48.5% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached $2 billion 916 million 544 thousand.

According to the information compiled by AA correspondent from the data of the Ministry of Commerce and the Turkish Exporters Assembly, Turkey’s exports in July increased by 10% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached $16.4 billion, while exports in January-July increased by 35% to $121.4 billion.

Jewelry was one of the sectors that attracted attention with its accelerated exports in this period. The July exports of the sector increased by 31.5% compared to the same month of the previous year and reached $456 million 259 thousand. Sector exports were realized as $347 million 44 thousand in July of last year. Thus, while the sector’s exports increased by $109 million on an annual basis in July, it came to the fore as the 4th sector with the highest increase in jewelery exports.

The exports of the sector increased by 48.5% in the January-July period compared to the same period of the previous year and reached $2 billion 916 million 544 thousand. In the January-July period of last year, jewelry exports were recorded as $1 billion 963 million 473 thousand.

The exports of the sector in the last 12 months increased by 21% compared to the previous period and reached $4 billion 731 million 597 thousand.

When analyzed on the basis of countries, the USA ranked first in exports. In the January-July period, exports to the USA increased by 69.3% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached $454 million 167 thousand.

The United Kingdom with $350 million 955 thousand of exports, the United Arab Emirates with $338 million 795 thousand, Hong Kong with $230 million 353 thousand and Iraq with $165 million 429 thousand followed the USA.

Istanbul carries the exports of the sector

In the 7-month period in question, the province with the highest jewelery export was Istanbul. Istanbul’s jewelry exports reached $2 billion 620 million 783 thousand with an increase of 42.8% compared to the January-July period of last year.

This province was followed by Corum with $186 million 420 thousand, Kastamonu with $33 million 790 thousand and Ankara with $27 million 725 thousand.
