Customs duty lifted for some products originating from Uzbekistan

Within the scope of the Preferential Trade Agreement signed between Turkiye and Uzbekistan, the tariff quotas to be applied in the import of some products originating from this country were regulated and the customs duty was zeroed.

The Communiqué on the Application of Tariff Quotas for the Import of Certain Products Originating from the Republic of Uzbekistan, prepared by the Ministry of Commerce with the President’s Decision on the Application of Tariff Quotas in the Imports of Certain Products Originating from the Republic of Uzbekistan, was published in the Official Gazette.

Accordingly, within the scope of the Preferential Trade Agreement signed between Turkiye and Uzbekistan, the tariff quotas to be applied in the import of some goods originating from Uzbekistan were regulated.

Tariff quotas were opened for some products including onions and shallots originating from Uzbekistan, chickpeas and plums. Within the framework of the tariff quotas in question, the customs duty will be applied to these products as zero.

It will enter into force as of 1 July

In case of violation of other matters specified in the import transactions to be made within the scope of the regulation, the allocated tariff quota allocation will be canceled and no quota will be allocated for 5 years.

On the other hand, the Decision on the Amendment of the Import Regime Decision prepared by the Ministry of Commerce was published in the Official Gazette.

Accordingly, the import regime regarding the customs duties of raw materials and intermediate products was updated.

Decisions and communiqués will enter into force as of 1 July.
