Istanbul Airport is at the top of Europe

Airports Council International (ACI Europe) has announced Europe’s busiest airports in 2021 in terms of passenger numbers. Three airports from Turkey were among the busiest airports. Airports in the European Continent lost 1.4 billion passengers last year, compared to 2019, which was before the epidemic.

IGA Istanbul Airport, which came to the fore with the measures it took during the epidemic period and ranked first among European airports in the number of passengers with 23.4 million passengers in 2020, maintained its top position this year as well. Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen and Antalya Airport were also included in the ranking. IGA Istanbul Airport, which served 280 thousand 109 aircraft last year, maintained its place in the first place among the airports in Europe with 36 million 988 thousand 563 passengers.

Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow and Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris, the capital of France, followed Istanbul Airport.
