Istanbul Airport ranked first among European airports with 5 million 996 thousand passenger traffic in June.
Airports Council of Europe (ACI Europe) has announced its air traffic report for the second quarter of this year.
Accordingly, while passenger traffic at airports in Europe increased by 247% in the first 6 months of 2022 compared to the same period of the previous year, Istanbul Airport was the airport that showed the best recovery compared to 2019.
According to the report, Istanbul Airport increased the number of passengers by 115.4% in June compared to the same period of the previous year.
Istanbul Airport, which was the first among European airports by hosting 5 million 996 thousand passengers in June, was followed by London, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Madrid and Barcelona airports, respectively.
On the other hand, Antalya Airport ranked 8th in the list with 3 million 911 thousand passengers.
