₺3.5 billion investment in domestic auto from Turkey

Industry and Technology Minister Varank stated that the investment made until the end of the year for the domestic electric car TOGG will reach ₺3.5 billion, and said, “The vehicle will come off the production line in 2022.”

The Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Plan and Budget Committee discussed the budget of the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank made important statements on many topics from domestic cars to Covid medicine.

IT WILL DOWN IN PRODUCTION BAND IN 2022

Providing information that ₺2.5 billion of investment has been completed for the domestic automobile, Minister Varank said, “At the end of the year, this amount will reach ₺3.5 billion. The first vehicle will be off the mass production line at the end of 2022.” Explaining that significant progress has been made in the production of batteries, which are the heart of electric vehicles, in Turkey, Minister Varank said, “TOGG and the world giant FARASIS, will start its 20 GWh battery investment in Gemlik soon. We are also in talks with other global battery manufacturers.”

CHARGING STATIONS WILL BE ESTABLISHED

Noting that they determined the need for a city-by-county charging station, Varank continued: “We designed support mechanisms for this. We have come to the final stage in the liquid-fueled RAMJET project. In 2022, we will reveal the RAMJET Engine prototype operating at supersonic speeds.”

EMPLOYMENT FOR 60 THOUSAND YOUNG PEOPLE

Explaining that they issued 8 thousand 564 incentive certificates with an investment amount of more than ₺161 billion in the 9 months of the year, Minister Varank informed that the number of newly established industrial enterprises increased by more than 20% compared to the previous year and reached 12 thousand 161. Varank said, “With the Working and Producing Youth Program, we build 170 factory buildings in 32 provinces and offer them to the service of investors,” said Varank, and noted that 60 thousand young people will be employed with the support of more than ₺600 million to be provided here.

COUNTDOWN FOR 919 ITEMS

Sharing the information that they have expanded the Technology-Oriented Industrial Move Program, Varank said, “We made new calls this year in the fields of mobility, structural transformation in production, digitalization, health and chemistry. Thus, we will enable the production of 919 critical products and technologies, which are the source of the $50 billion current account deficit, in our country.”

OPENING ABROAD

Explaining that they will carry TEKNOFEST to the Black Sea next year and organize it in Samsun, where the torch of the national struggle is lit, Varank said, “With TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan, we will also take the first step of our organization to become a global brand.”

TURKISH COVID VACCINE IS ON THE WAY

Minister Varank stated that the Phase-2 clinical studies of the VLP vaccine developed by the Covid-19 Turkey Platform have concluded, and said, “We are waiting for the completion of the processes at the Ministry of Health to start the Phase-3 study. Phase-2 clinical studies continue in Montelukast and Ribavirin drugs, which can be used in the treatment of Covid-19. In Montelukast, we plan to reach the stage of emergency use in the near future.”
