Turkiye exported $1.9 billion of fresh fruit and vegetables in 7 months

Ferhat Guruz, Chairman of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, announced that $1 billion 892 million of fresh fruit and vegetables were exported from Turkiye in the January-July period.

In his written statement, Guruz stated that the country-wide fresh fruit and vegetable exports reached $197.1 million in July with an increase of 27% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Stating that the sector evaluated 192,700 tons of products in international markets in July, Guruz informed that the highest export sales were realized in cherry-cherry, peach and apricot groups in this period.

Noting that Germany, Russia and the Netherlands were the countries with the highest exports in July, Guruz said, “The exports of the sector in the January-July period increased by 18% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached the level of $1 billion 892 million.”
