Borsa Istanbul stock market ended the day with gains

The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul completed the day by gaining 0.69 percent, closing at 9,142.40 points.

Istanbul While the BIST 100 index increased by 62.43 points compared to the previous close, the total trading volume was 93.8 billion Turkish lira.

The banking index lost 0.38 percent, and the holding index lost 0.16 percent.

Among the sector indices, technology gained the most with 4.47 percent, while securities investment trusts lost the most with 1.23 percent.

According to data released today, personal consumption expenditures in the United States increased by 0.8 percent in February, exceeding expectations. The core personal consumption expenditures price index, which excludes food and energy items considered by the Federal Reserve as inflation indicators, also increased by 0.3 percent monthly and 2.8 percent annually during the same period, in line with expectations.

Analysts noted that uncertainties remain regarding when the Fed will start cutting interest rates following the release of the data. They also reported that markets in the United States, Europe, and Hong Kong were closed today due to the Easter holiday.

Analysts stated that in the domestic market next week, the Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) for manufacturing, inflation, treasury cash balance, and abroad, employment reports in the United States, factory orders, inflation in the Eurozone, retail sales, and manufacturing PMI to be announced worldwide will be closely followed. From a technical perspective, analysts noted that the resistance levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,200 and 9,350, while the support levels are at 9,000 and 8,900 points.
