Foreign tourist arrivals to Antalya approached 2 million

Hakan Saatçioğlu, President of the Professional Hotel Managers Association (POYD), stated that the number of foreign tourists arriving in Antalya reached 1.87 million as of yesterday, indicating a 16% increase compared to last year.

Antalya The traditional monthly meeting organized by the POYD was held at a hotel in the Kemer district.

In his speech at the meeting, President Saatçioğlu noted the increasing tourism activity in the city.

Saatçioğlu expressed satisfaction with the start of the season, stating, “As of yesterday, the number of guests arriving from abroad to Antalya is 1.87 million. Compared to last year, we have recorded a 16% increase.”

Recalling a slowdown in the number of foreign tourists in the first two months last year due to earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş in February, Saatçioğlu noted an expectation to surpass last year’s figures this year.

Saatçioğlu also mentioned that Antalya had a lively winter season and expressed the possibility of reaching 17 million tourist arrivals by the end of the year.

Kemer District Governor Ahmet Solmaz also expressed satisfaction with the developments in tourism. Solmaz noted that tourism in the district has become even more active with the approaching summer season, stating that they are ready to provide necessary support to tourism professionals.

During the meeting, plaques were awarded to those who supported the association’s activities.
