Huge increase in house sales figures: Istanbul is at the top

Accordingly, house sales across Turkey increased by 20.6% in March compared to the same month of the previous year and became 134 thousand 170. Istanbul had the highest share in house sales with 23,974 house sales and 17.9%.

134,170 HOUSES WERE SOLD IN MARCH IN TURKEY

Housing sales across Turkey increased by 20.6% in March compared to the same month of the previous year and became 134 thousand 170. Istanbul had the highest share in house sales with 23,974 house sales and 17.9% share. According to the number of sales, Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 12 thousand 609 house sales and 9.4% share, and Izmir with 8 thousand 51 house sales and 6.0% share. The provinces with the lowest number of house sales were Ardahan with 25 houses, Bayburt with 82 houses and Tunceli with 103 houses, respectively.

HOUSING SALES INCREASED BY 21.7% IN JANUARY-MARCH PERIOD

Housing sales increased by 21.7% in the January-March period compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 320 thousand 63.

MORTGAGED HOUSING SALES REALIZED AS 30 THOUSAND 271

Mortgaged house sales across Turkey increased by 38.8% in March compared to the same month of the previous year and became 30,271. The share of mortgaged sales in total house sales was 22.6%. Mortgaged house sales in the January-March period, on the other hand, increased by 44.7% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 68 thousand 342.

7 thousand 767 of the mortgaged sales in March and 18 thousand 485 of the mortgaged sales in the January-March period were first-hand sales.

103 THOUSAND 899 HOUSES HAVE CHANGED HANDS BY OTHER TYPES OF SALES

Other house sales across Turkey increased by 16.2% in March compared to the same month of the previous year and became 103 thousand 899. The share of other sales in total house sales was 77.4%. Other house sales realized in the January-March period, on the other hand, increased by 16.6% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 251,721.

NUMBER OF SALES OF THE FIRST-HAND HOUSING WAS 38 THOUSAND 337

The number of first-hand house sales in Turkey increased by 14.9% in March compared to the same month of the previous year and became 38 thousand 337. The share of first-hand house sales in total house sales was 28.6%. In the January-March period, the first-hand house sales increased by 17.5% compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 94 thousand 437.

95 THOUSAND 833 HOUSES HAVE CHANGED HANDS IN SECOND-HAND HOUSING SALES

Second-hand house sales across Turkey increased by 23.1% in March compared to the same month of the previous year and became 95 thousand 833. The share of second-hand house sales in total house sales was 71.4%. Second-hand house sales in the January-March period increased by 23.5% compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 225 thousand 626.

5 thousand 567 houses were sold to foreigners in February

Housing sales to foreigners increased by 31.0% in March compared to the same month of the previous year and became 5 thousand 567. In March, the share of house sales to foreigners in total house sales was 4.1%. Istanbul took first place in house sales to foreigners with the sale of 2 thousand 245 houses. Antalya was followed by Antalya with 434 sales and Ankara with 347 sales, respectively.

In the January-March period, house sales to foreigners increased by 45.1% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 14 thousand 344.

BY COUNTRY NATIONALITY, MOST HOUSING SALES WERE MADE TO IRAN CITIZENS

In March, Iranian citizens bought 784 houses from Turkey. The citizens of Iran were followed by the citizens of Iraq with 741 residences and the citizens of the Russian Federation with 547 residences, respectively.
