Stellantis to Lay Off 2% of Technology Personnel in the U.S.

Stellantis announced that it will terminate the employment of 2% of its engineering, technology, and software unit employees in the United States as part of productivity and cost optimization efforts.

In a statement released by Stellantis, it was emphasized that the automotive industry continues to face unprecedented uncertainties and increased competitive pressures worldwide. The company stated that it continues to make decisions to increase efficiency and optimize its cost structure.

The statement indicated that after rigorous organizational reviews, the reduction of approximately 2% of the engineering, technology, and software workforce in the U.S. has been approved, with the layoffs taking effect from March 31.

It was emphasized in the statement that these actions will preserve critical skills required for competitive advantage and better align resources.

According to reports in the U.S. media, the layoffs are said to affect approximately 400 employees.
