Central Bank reserves are at an 8-month high

The Central Bank’s total reserves rose to $126 billion 560 million in the week of October 27, an increase of $435 million compared to the previous week, reaching the highest level of 32 weeks.

Weekly Money and Bank Statistics were published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT).

Accordingly, as of October 27, the Central Bank’s gross foreign exchange reserves decreased by $155 million to $82 billion 412 million. Gross foreign exchange reserves were at the level of $82 billion 567 million on October 20.

During the said period, gold reserves increased by $590 million, from $43 billion 558 million to $44 billion 148 million.

The Central Bank’s total reserves reached the highest level of 32 weeks in the week of October 27, increasing by $435 million compared to the previous week, from $126 billion 125 million to $126 billion 560 million.

It broke the record for the longest increase in history

The increase in total reserves from the end of May to the week ending October 27 was $28 billion 102 million, and during this period, total reserves increased for 15 consecutive weeks, breaking the record for the longest increase in the data history that started in 1987.
