Turkish company ELIN Energy Inc. will establish a solar panel production factory in the USA.
ELIN Energy Chairman of the Board Arda Yali told Anadolu Agency (AA) at the Intersolar European Solar Energy Conference and Fair that they are planning to establish a solar panel production factory with an annual production capacity of 1000 megawatts in the USA.
Noting that they continue to work to make the said investment in the state of Texas or Georgia, Yali said, “Except for the state selection, all purchases and contracts regarding the services to be provided there have been completed. If we consider the annual production power in solar panel production by 2024, as ELIN Energy, we will have a factory that will be in the top 5 in terms of capacity in America. Our factory will employ 250 people in the first phase. In 2024, our Sirius PV USA panels will take their place on roofs in America.”
The solar industry is developing rapidly
Yali stated that the solar energy industry in Turkiye has grown 4 times more than other industrial sectors and reminded that they have commissioned a 750 megawatt panel production factory in addition to the annual 2.5 gigawatt panel production capacity in Turkiye.
Pointing out that solar energy has become an important tool in the fight against climate change, Yali said:
“Solar energy is enjoying unprecedented popularity around the world. The message of transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy has finally found its way, and countries around the world are now moving mountains to build an emissions-free future. The cost advantages of solar panels have also encouraged millions of people to install rooftop PV systems in their homes and businesses and have access to the most affordable electricity.”
Stating that they have increased their R&D investments in the field of photovoltaic panel technology in Turkiye, Yali said, “We rank first among the largest solar panel manufacturers in Europe with the annual PV module power we produce in our two factories. The high efficiency provided by our Sirius branded panels with advanced technology increases the demand for our production. As ELIN Energy, we are working rapidly to increase the production of electricity from the sun. We hope to realize these principles before 2053, with all our suppliers and business partners, in line with Turkiye’s goal of zero carbon emissions.”
