According to the data of Zingat.com, the real estate information and marketing platform, in 2021, the most residences for sale were sought from Istanbul, and the land for sale from Izmir.
According to the statement from Zingat.com, “Real Estate. Information. Confidence.” Zingat.com, which set out with the slogan, shared the provinces and districts that most sought housing and land for sale throughout Turkey in 2021.
Istanbul ranked first among the provinces where Zingat.com visitors searched the most for housing for sale throughout 2021. Istanbul was followed by Izmir, Ankara, Mugla and Mersin.
In the ranking of the districts where housing is sought for sale, Aydin’s Kusadasi district did not leave the first place this year, as it did last year.
After Kusadasi, Trabzon’s Ortahisar, Mugla’s Bodrum, Istanbul’s Esenyurt and Beylikduzu regions shared the top five places among the districts with the highest number of residential searches throughout the year.
A SEARCH WAS MADE FOR THE MOST SALE FLATS AND LAND
The housing type preferences of users who searched for real estate on the platform in 2021 also revealed the orientation in real estate investment.
Flats and land are among the most frequently searched real estate types in the For Sale category. After the apartment and the land, the demanded ones were villas, detached houses and prefabricated houses, respectively.
While Izmir was the prominent province of 2021 in the searches for land for sale, which saw an increase in demand after the epidemic, Istanbul, Antalya, Bursa and Kayseri took place in the first five places, along with Izmir.
While the Aksehir region of Konya occupied the first place among the districts with the most searches for land for sale, the districts of Istanbul’s Catalca and Sile, and Mugla’s Milas and Fethiye came after Aksehir in the category of land for sale.

Eser Karaismailoglu, Director of Sales and Commercial Relations at Zingat, whose views are included in the statement, stated that especially expats are in intense search in Aydin Kusadasi region and said:
“As a result of the fluctuation in the exchange rate, we observe that the citizens of other countries also show great interest in the region. Especially in the last quarter of the year, the traffic we receive from abroad has doubled. In other districts where housing is sought the most, we follow the recovery of domestic demand with the decrease in loan interest rates, as well as the interest of foreigners. Especially in Beylikduzu and Esenyurt districts, the fact that the prices are more reasonable compared to the central districts is an important issue that increases the interest of our citizens in these two districts. Due to the extraordinary increases in construction costs in the last year, it is estimated that the prices of the currently produced houses will increase clearly. This is one of the important factors that increase demand.”
Noting that the villa and detached house categories have maintained their attractiveness since last year, Karaismailoglu said, “The epidemic process was a period when people made peace with their homes and at the same time questioned their living spaces a lot. Citizens who are motivated to live in harmony with nature have shown more interest in new projects or second-hand housing type that can meet these needs.”
Referring to the demand for the land investment, Karaismailoglu said, “We observe that the searches are intensifying in the regions located on the Northern Marmara Highway, Izmir-Istanbul Highway and the 1915 Canakkale Bridge route, the construction of which has now come to an end. As in the housing category, Mugla continues to be a center of attraction for those who invest in land. Our citizens who will invest in land must be sure of basic information such as the location of the land they will invest in and its suitability for construction.”
