MEM Solar and Rolls Royce signed a cooperation agreement in energy

A collaboration between MEM Solar and Rolls Royce has been initiated for energy storage, microgrid and sustainable solutions.

According to the statement made by the company, an agreement was made between Turkiye’s largest shipyard, textile, steel pipe manufacturing and renewable energy investor MEM Solar, and Rolls-Royce’s business unit Power Systems, which operates in energy solutions technologies, for Turkiye’s first electricity storage microgrid system solution installation.

While MEM Solar directs its experience in the maritime and land sector to the fields of renewable energy, it chose Rolls Royce Power Systems with its mtu brand, represented by Rolls Royce Solutions Turkiye in Turkiye, as a strong and reliable candidate in this regard.

The new business area, which was initiated with the installation of Rolls Royce Solutions units with 2 megawatt-hour capacity mtu brand battery storage and control system, will be continued with the management of investments in industrial applications and renewable energy fields in the following period.

In the statement, it was stated that distributed energy system, microgrid applications and battery technologies are among the important energy issues, and the following was noted:

‘This cooperation, which is very important for entering the new energy market, which has reached a significant size in the world and will start and develop rapidly in our country, is of great importance in terms of creating the correct technical conditions of the market. We hope that this project, which we initiated in order to support both the market and the institutions responsible for energy with this first project, which is an indication of our determination to create innovative and efficient solutions for a cleaner future in land and marine applications, will be beneficial to our companies, our country and our society.’
