Cargill chooses Istanbul as their strategic center for operations

Turkey’s role in Cargill, an international food company, has increased. The management of the company’s India-based food operations will also be carried out from Istanbul.

Cargill’s strategic center for operations in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) region, which includes 66 countries, became Istanbul.

The management of the company’s India-based food operations will also be carried out from Istanbul. With the participation of India in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) region, Cargill will be able to benefit more from the strength of its Turkey-based operations.

Cargill Food Middle East, Turkey and Africa Chairman and CEO Murat Tarakcioglu said, “Turkey stands out as an important production and investment region in the post-pandemic period.”

Cargill, which has invested more than $530 million in Turkey for 60 years, has expanded its domestic product portfolio with various food ingredients, bioindustrial materials and animal nutrition products.

Stating that they have developed innovative food products in line with consumer trends, Tarakcioglu said, “When we look at the next 60 years, we will continue to maintain these priorities.

We will continue to develop value-added products such as plant-based proteins, bioindustrial and pharmaceutical quality raw materials.”

Within the scope of the 1000 Farmers 1000 Blessings Programme, the company provides services to farmers in Turkey such as training on sustainable farming methods, access to digital farming tools and specific consultancy for their fields.

On the other hand, with the 60 Leaders for the Future Program, implemented with the aim of raising the female leaders of the future, 60 university students are provided with personal and professional development support as well as scholarships.
