Uraloglu pointed out that the line is the project of the “bests” and “firsts” and said:

“First of all, it was the longest subway tendered in one piece, with 37.5 kilometers. For the first time in Turkiye, 10 tunnel boring machines were used simultaneously in a subway project. The care shown in the very successful excavation operations set world records in the excavation speed among machines of this caliber. We broke records for tunnel boring machine progress with 64.5 meters per day, 333 meters per week and 1233 meters per month. Turkiye’s fastest metro vehicles, with a speed of 120 kilometers per hour, are also used on this line. Again, for the first time, we used the signaling system developed by TUBITAK in cooperation with ASELSAN in this metro line, in a project supported by our Ministry with local and national resources.”

Reminding that they opened the 34-kilometer-long “Kagithane-Istanbul Airport” section of the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport Metro a year ago, Uraloglu pointed out that the line carried 5.15 million passengers last year, serving 8 stations with 112 trips a day.
