Genc MUSIAD: ‘’We have the potential human capital to achieve the National Technological Advance.’’

Yunus Furkan Akbal, the president of the younger generation of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association (MÜSİAD) said:

‘’ We already have more than enough potential labour force to realize National Technological Advance in our system.’’

According to the statement made by Akbal, the president of the younger MÜSİAD, they have been paying attention on online events during the epidemic and have already made 192 events. He continued:

‘’ We have informed our organizations since the beginning of the pandemic via gathering them together on social platforms. We mentioned them that the pandemic period may continue 2 or 3 months and there can be a lot of positive sides of the pandemic so we should not only focus on negativities. We regarded the epidemic period as an opportunity in the case of personal development, a time wise luck to do readings globally; to our organization, the period was an opportunity for us to think about the youth policies and set up substructure of our future plans and projects.’’

Akbal emphasized that in order for National Technological Advance to be practiced uniquely, it is equally important for shareholdings of private-public sectors and shareholdings of nongovernmental organizations (STK) to be powerful. He added:

‘’Technological progress and development plans in every country such as German plan of ‘Industry 4.0’, Chinese plan of ‘Production 2015’ or Japanese plan of ‘Society 5.0’, can be practiced via social awareness and powerful support. It is important to be national and unique for these technological transformation plans to succeed. It is possible for the National Technology Advance to be practiced by setting measurable goals, understanding the developments worldwide and most importantly, prioritizing the potential labour.

MÜSİAD already has a potential labour structure consisted of people; who chose entrepreneurship as a career, who are professionals newly getting a job, who chose to stay in the academy and continue to Research and Development (R&D), who wants to meet their conventional fund with innovative jobs and be a new generation representatives of their companies. This is valid not only in Turkey but also in abroad meaning, the successful youth that are in abroad also will contribute to the National Technological Advance. Certainly, it is our main job to make this extensive structure manage every individual in the best way.’’

Contribution of MÜSİAD to National Technological Advance

Akbal mentioned that the activities practised by MÜSİAD committees directly and indirectly contribute to National Technological Advance and he added:

‘’We started and are still practicing the programmes of ‘’Conventional Fund Transformation’’ in every city of Turkey. These programs aim to gather young entrepreneurs that are willing to produce national technology with wise merchants together, make them work with such as angel investment, venture capital fund.’’

Akbal gave details about their former practiced technological enterprises:

‘’We can see marks of technological enterprising in all our project applications to e-commerce educations, industry-specific programmes of digital transformation, education of project writing, the European Union, the Development Agency and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. In our last project that is supported by the funds of the European Union, we gathered 12 start-ups from different sectors in Turkey together with investors and private sectors in London. Our reports that include issues such as digital transition, universities during the pandemic and our report that is consisted of visuals of the ecosystem of entrepreneurship during the pandemic will be published separately soon, after the pandemic period is over. While preparing the reports, we consider what action we will take and what the changes are regarding the epidemic. Don’t be misguided by the term ‘national technology’, we need leading studies that are outgoing and universal, meaning competing and guiding the world. In this universal sense, the members of ours who practice programmes in Gaziantep, Bursa and London are the same members who coordinate the substructures of projects in Holland and France; naturally, this adds a high value and synergy.’’

Akbal stated that they are working hard on National Technological Advance so that it improves, he said:

‘’Our educational programmes are still operated in everywhere. We have an another new programme plan everyday in order to raise social awareness. We, alone, are not enough for the National Technological Advance to improve yet we try taking part in it and make the improvements happen fast by these programmes. We transform our variety to added-value by providing synchronization with our more than four thousand members located in Turkey and abroad.’’

‘’We will continue our studies that support the potential TURCORNs (Turkish Unicorn Companies)’’

Akbal, mentioning the sale of the firm ‘’Peak Games’’, said that:

‘’Defence industry products come to mind first when we talk about the National Technology Advance; yet, first TURCORN (a company valued at more than a billion dollar) was in a game industry. We may see TURCORNs from different industries in the next 10 years or maybe due to the effects of Covid-19, there will be start-ups regarding biomedical. Most certainly, MÜSİAD will keep it’s studies and support the potential TURCORNs; a TURCORN even could be an enterprise or investment of one of MÜSİAD members.’’

Akbal finish his words by mentioning MÜSİAD’s future studies:

‘’We have started the preparations of the Congress of International Young Businessmen (UGİK) which was cancelled due to Covid-19. We hope to hold UGİK in the first 3 months of 2021. Other than that, we will realize our project named ‘’Young Business Academy (YBA)’’ as from October with a powerful staff. YBA whose motto is ‘’YBA brings the future businessmen up.’’ , will show it’s effect also in this year. In addition to these, new projects are being designed in our nearly every committee. Our job is to support young businessmen. We will continue to work and produce. We invite those of you who think like us, to our association.’’
