Experts expect monthly rise of 4.14% in Turkiye’s February inflation

Country’s monthly inflation rate in January was 11.10%

Turkiye’s annual inflation rate in February is projected to have risen to 4.14%, an Anadolu Agency survey found on Tuesday.

The Turkish Statistical Institute will announce the February consumer prices index on Feb. 3.

A group of 23 economists polled by Anadolu Agency forecast that monthly inflation for February averaged at 4.14%, ranging between 3.09% and 7.5%.

The country’s monthly inflation rate in January was 11.10%.

On the other hand, economists’ year-end inflation expectations decreased from 38.12% to 38.05%.

The country’s annual inflation rate in January reached its highest level since April 2002.

Consumer prices surged by 48.7% from the same period in January last year,up from an annual rate of 36.1% in December, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
