Foreign PPI decreased on a monthly basis in September

While the Foreign Producer Price Index (YD-PPI) decreased by 0.59% on a monthly basis in September, it increased by 57.25% on an annual basis.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced YD-PPI data for September.

Accordingly, while YD-PPI showed a monthly decrease of 0.59% in September, it increased by 47.62% compared to December last year, 57.25% compared to the same month last year and 53.1% compared to 12-month averages.

Looking at the annual changes in the two sectors of the industry, there was an increase of 50.33% in mining and quarrying and 57.37% in manufacturing.

Considering the annual changes of the main industrial groups, there was an increase of 48.44% in intermediate goods, 61.32% in durable consumer goods, 58.33% in non-durable consumer goods, 55.87% in energy and 66.58% in capital goods.

Monthly changes in the two sectors of the industry were calculated as a decrease of 0.58% in mining and quarrying and a decrease of 0.59% in manufacturing.

Monthly changes of the main industrial groups were recorded as 0.97% in intermediate goods, 1.54% in durable consumer goods, 1.4% decrease in capital goods, 0.31% increase in non-durable consumer goods and 2.48% increase in energy.

According to the annual YD-PPI, 12 sub-sectors showed lower changes and 13 sub-sectors showed higher changes.

In this context, basic metals with 37.92%, printing and recording services with 42.33%, and paper and paper products with 42.98% were the sub-sectors where the indices increased the least. On the other hand, machinery and equipment b.y.s. It was calculated that the sub-sectors where the indices increased the most were 77.71%, tobacco products 76.98%, computers and electronic and optical products 74.3%.

According to the monthly YD-PPI, 13 sub-sectors showed lower changes and 12 sub-sectors showed higher changes.

Among the YD-PPI sectors, motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers were the sub-sectors where the indices showed the highest decrease with 2.23%, base metals with 2.21%, and other manufactured goods with 1.77%. On the other hand, printing and recording services, coke and refined petroleum products, 2.48%, and food products, 1.23%, were calculated as the sub-sectors with the highest increase in the indices.
