Fiat, Opel and Peugeot brands were among the top 3 automotive brands in sales last month in the Turkish automobile and light commercial vehicle market.
In the Turkish automobile and light commercial vehicle market, the brands with the highest sales in May were Fiat, Opel and Peugeot, respectively.
According to the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD) data, last month automobile and light commercial vehicle sales increased by 70.9% compared to the same period of 2022 and amounted to 111,356.
In May, automobile sales increased by 68.5% compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 87 thousand 218, while light commercial vehicle sales increased by 79.9% to 24 thousand 138. Thus, the record series in automotive sales continued in May as well.
Top 5 in the total market
According to the information compiled by the AA correspondent from the ODMD report, Fiat took the first place in passenger and light commercial sales with 18,844 units last month. Fiat was followed by Opel with 10,671 units and Peugeot with 9,954 sales.
Renault ranked fourth with 9,553 sales and Ford fifth with 9,253 sales.
Automobile sales
Fiat was the brand that sold the most automobiles in May with 13,624. Fiat was followed by Opel with 8 thousand 798 sales and Renault with 8 thousand 554 sales.
Volkswagen is in fourth place with 7 thousand 512 sales, while Peugeot is in fifth place with 6 thousand 855 automobile sales.
306 Toggs sold in May
With the inclusion of Togg and Chinese Leapmotor in the ODMD brand list, the number of brands increased to 48. Last month, sales were made from all brands except Smart and Lamborghini.
Togg’s sales amounted to 306 units for the month of May.
In the luxury car group, 96 Porsches, 86 Maseratis, 57 Lexus, 32 Jaguars, 5 Aston Martins, 2 Ferraris and 1 Bentley were sold in May.
Top 5 of light commercial
Looking at the light commercial vehicle segment, Ford was at the top of the list with 6 thousand 58 sales last month. Ford was followed by Fiat with 5 thousand 220 sales and Peugeot with 3 thousand 99 sales.
Citroen was fourth with 2,921 sales and Opel was fifth with 1,873 sales.
