BIST 100 index gains around 17.2 points at opening session versus previous close
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,664.83 points on Wednesday, up 0.65%, or 17.24 points, from the previous close.
On Tuesday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was down 0.33% to 2,647.59 points, with a daily trading volume of 44.2 billion liras ($2.46 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose slightly to 17.9510 as of 10.01 a.m. local time (0701GMT) versus 17.9450 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 18.2461 from 18.3010, while a British pound traded for 21.8311 Turkish liras, down from 21.9670 at the previous close.
Brent crude oil was selling for around $100.26 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,784.95.
