European stock exchanges close higher

Germany’s DAX performs best, soaring 3.76%

European stock exchanges closed higher on Wednesday, as four of the six major indices rallied more than 3% apiece.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, jumped 13.33 points, or 3.06%, \to close at 448.45 points.

London’s FTSE 100 gained almost 116 points, or 1.62%, to finish at 7,291.

Germany’s DAX 30 was the best performer of the day jumping 523 points, or 3.76%, to end the day at 14,440, while France’s CAC 40 was up 233 points, or 3.68%, to 6,588.

Italy’s FTSE MIB increased almost 785 points, or 3.34%, to close at 24,284.

Spain’s IBEX 35 rose 144 points, or 1.75%, to 8,380.
