Turkish Airlines (THY) launched the ‘Family check-in counter’, designed to make the airport experience enjoyable for children traveling from Istanbul Airport with their families.
The specially designed counter at Istanbul Airport was created as an area where children can spend time without getting bored while ticketing and baggage transactions are being made. In the area where cloud motifs and hopscotch-themed floor applications were placed, some areas were covered with rubber, considering the safety of child passengers. Families with children, who are welcomed by TGS ground handling personnel, can get their transactions done in a very short time in the area consisting of four separate sections.
MOTHERS AND FATHERS ARE SATISFIED
Passengers who experienced the ‘Family check-in counter’ service with their children were very satisfied with the area created. Mehmet Fatih, who is traveling with his wife Yagmur Korkmaz and his son, said, “We used to queue at other counters before. There was positive discrimination for families with children. Our turn came right away. We were waiting for 10 minutes at the normal place. Now we did our transactions immediately. It’s good for kids too. They were bored while waiting. Now they are playing and waiting. It was a great convenience,” he said. Coming to the airport for the Adana flight with his 5-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Tugce Cagla Akpinar said, “My daughter was often very naughty. Now she played without getting bored. The service is very good.”
