Turkiye: Services Producer Price Index increased in March

The Services Producer Price Index increased by 2.3% on a monthly basis and by 73.55% on an annual basis in March this year.

Turkish Statistical Institute announced the results of the “Service Producer Price Index” for March.

Accordingly, H-PPI increased by 2.3% in March compared to the previous month, by 20.15% compared to December last year, by 73.55% compared to the same month of the previous year and by 88.55% on the 12-month averages.

Compared to the same month of the previous year, the index increased by 62.06% in transportation and storage services, 89.25% in accommodation and food services, 72.31% in information and communication services, and 79.5% in real estate services. 93.87% in professional, scientific and technical services, and 85.55% in administrative and support services.

Compared to the previous month, the index increased by 1.69% in transportation and storage services, 3.64% in accommodation and food services, and 0.81% in information and communication services, 6.47% in real estate services, 1.45% in professional, scientific and technical services, and 2.91% in administrative and support services.

According to the annual H-PPI, 8 sub-sectors changed lower and 19 sub-sectors showed higher changes.

When the sub-sectors are analyzed on an annual basis, water transport services by 15.21%, air transport services by 51.54%, and telecommunication services by 53.45%were determined as the sub-sectors where the indexes increased the least. On the other hand, programming and broadcasting services by 128.96%, employment services by 123.21%, advertising and market research services by 121.63% were the sub-sectors where the indexes increased the most.

According to the monthly H-PPI, 14 sub-sectors recorded lower changes and 13 sub-sectors recorded higher changes.

When the sub-sectors are analyzed on a monthly basis, employment services by 2.12%, architecture, engineering, technical testing and analysis services by 1.94%, and building and landscaping services by 1.44% were calculated as the sub-sectors where the indices decreased the most. On the other hand, programming and publishing services by 10.88%, scientific research and development services by 10.35%, travel agencies, tour operators, other reservation services and related services were recorded as the sub-sectors with the highest increase in indexes with 7.32%.
