Industrial production in the Euro Zone fell by %1.1 in December

Industrial production in the Euro Zone decreased by 1.1% in December compared to the previous month.

The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) announced the seasonally adjusted industrial production data for December 2022 for the European Union (EU) and Euro Zone.

Accordingly, industrial production in the 19-member Eurozone fell by 1.1% in December compared to November and by 1.7% compared to December 2021.

Industrial production in the EU decreased by 0.4% in December both compared to the previous month and compared to the same period last year.

On the other hand, in 2022, the average industrial production increased by 0.9% in the Euro Area and 1.9% in the EU compared to the previous year.

In December, the highest monthly increase in industrial production among EU countries was determined in Denmark with 13.5%, Portugal with 4.1% and Hungary with 3.8%. The largest decreases were observed in Ireland with 8.5%, Luxembourg with 5.2% and Lithuania with 4%.

On an annual basis, industrial production increased the most in Denmark with 21.1%, in Malta with 17.1%, in Hungary and Poland with 5.8%, it decreased by 13.1% in Slovakia, 11.5% in Estonia and 8.4% in Luxembourg.
