Turkiye’s dried fruit exports reached $1.1 billion

Turkiye’s exports of dried fruits and products amounted to $1 billion 103 million.

Mehmet Ali Isik, President of Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, stated that Turkiye is by far the world leader in dried figs, raisins and dried apricots, which are included in the list of healthy food products by the World Health Organization.

Pointing out that according to the data of Aegean Exporters’ Associations, as of August 19, the exports of the products in question rose to $1 billion 103 million, with an increase of 5% compared to the previous season, Isiksaid:

“Turkiye exported the most apricots to the United States in the 2022-23 season. Our dried apricot exports to the United States increased by 26% to $72 million. While France ranked second with an increase of 13% in dried apricot exports of $40 million, Germany demanded $33 million of Turkish apricots with an increase of 14%.

In the export of seedless raisins, the United Kingdom maintained its top position with an export of $104 million, while $55 million of raisins were exported to Germany. The Netherlands ranked third with a 25% increase in demand for raisins of $50 million. While the USA came to the fore with a 23% increase in demand for $38 million of dried figs, we exported $28 million of dried figs to France and $27 million to Germany.”

Emphasizing that the sustainability-oriented works that have been going on for 35-40 years lie behind the success in the dried fruit sector, Mehmet Ali Isik said, “We are also the leader in the world in organic matter. We aim to bring $450 million in raisins and $250 million in dried figs to Turkiye in the 2022/23 season.”
